Elevate traditional taquitos by filling them with flavorful shark meat. Serve with fresh salsa, creamy guacamole, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and tangy sour cream. Delight in every bite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound shark fillets
  • 12 (6 inch) corn tortillas
  • 0.25 cup canola oil
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Cut the shark into 3/4-inch thick and 3-inch long strips. Combine canola oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, and Cajun spice mix in a plastic container. Add the shark strips to the container, marinate for 1 hour.
  • Place tortillas in the microwave to gently heat them until they become soft and pliable.
  • Remove excess liquid from marinade, then gently dry shark with paper towels. Lay a piece of shark along one edge of a tortilla, roll it up snugly, and secure with a toothpick.
  • Preheat oil in a deep fryer until shimmering. Carefully dip taquitos into the hot oil and fry until they turn a beautiful golden brown, for about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Arrange the taquitos in a spacious baking dish and generously top them with shredded cheese.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
