Savory bacon and a blend of beans mixed with sweet and tangy seasonings create a delicious casserole dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound bacon
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can lima beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
  • 1 (28 ounce) can baked beans
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large, deep skillet, sizzle the bacon over medium-high heat until perfectly browned. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
  • Cook the onion in the flavorful bacon fat until soft; then mix in the brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and vinegar. Simmer covered on low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Combine the bacon, onion mixture, and a variety of beans in a large baking dish. Mix thoroughly. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours, then uncover and bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes.
