Five-spice beef and vegetable stir-fry

Wholesome family stir-fry, ready in minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 35g cornflour
  • 2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 500g Stir Fry Beef Strips
  • 60ml vegetable oil
  • 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 150g snow peas, trimmed, halved
  • 1 bunch choy sum, coarsely chopped
  • 225g can bamboo shoots, rinsed, drained
  • 48.80 gm oyster sauce
  • 42.00 gm soy sauce
  • 60ml beef stock
  • 8.00 gm brown sugar
  • Steamed rice, to serve
  • Lime wedges, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, mix the cornflour and five-spice together. Add the beef and toss until coated evenly.
  • In a hot wok or large deep frying pan, sizzle 2 tbs of oil. Cook the beef in batches for 2-3 mins until crispy and cooked through. Plate the beef and discard any extra oil.
  • Heat the rest of the oil in the wok on medium-high heat. Cook the onion for 2 mins until softened. Add garlic, capsicum, and snow peas, stir-fry for 2 mins until snow peas are tender. Add back the beef, choy sum, bamboo shoots, oyster sauce, soy sauce, stock, and sugar. Stir-fry for 2 mins until heated. Serve in bowls with steamed rice and lime wedges.
