Whip up a chocolate buttercream frosting using just butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and heavy cream for a light and fluffy finish on any cake or cupcakes.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Instructions:
  • In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, blend powdered sugar and butter until fluffy for about 5 minutes on medium speed. Add cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt; mix for 30 seconds. Slowly add cream one tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue mixing until the frosting appears shiny with large bubbles, 3 to 5 minutes more.
