Indulge in a sweet twist with fresh strawberry fudge! Just whip up sugar syrup, beat egg whites, and mix in strawberry preserves for a fruity delight.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Instructions:
  • Prepare the 8 x 8 inch square pan by greasing it.
  • In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, water, and cream of tartar, then bring to a boil. Heat until the temperature reaches 242 to 248 degrees F (116 to 120 degrees C) or until a small amount of syrup forms a firm but pliable ball when dropped into cold water. Add the strawberry preserves, stir, and bring back to a boil. Remove from heat.
  • Pour the luscious strawberry mixture over the fluffy beaten egg whites while stirring, until thick. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, cool for 2 hours until firm, then cut into delicious squares.
