Effortlessly whip up this fluffy vanilla layer cake with basic ingredients for a delicious treat anytime.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.75 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to whip sugar and butter until light and fluffy, around 6 to 7 minutes. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Mix in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Add this mixture to the butter mixture and mix until well combined. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
