Make crispy fried pickles dipped in zesty ranch, a crowd-pleasing snack with a perfect mix of salty, tangy, and crunchy flavors.
Instructions:
  • Drain the pickles and spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with a clean towel or paper towels. Place another layer on top and gently press down to thoroughly dry them.
  • Create a breading station: In one bowl, mix flour with Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, combine buttermilk and eggs. Lastly, place seasoned breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  • For crispy pickles: Heat oil in a pot until it reaches 350˚F. Coat pickle slices with flour, buttermilk, and breadcrumbs.
  • - *Fry the pickles:* Once the oil is hot, carefully add the first batch of pickles, ensuring they are separated in the oil. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on a platter, sprinkle with salt. Bread the next batch while reheating the oil. Repeat until all pickles are fried. Serve warm with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
