Festive brownies topped with peppermint frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • 1 1/4 cups Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting (from 16 oz container)
  • 1/8 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract
  • Betty Crocker™ green or pink gel food color
  • Peppermint or spearmint candies, crushed, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. Prepare and bake the brownie batter following the instructions on the box. Allow the brownies to cool completely on a rack for about 1 1/2 hours before serving.
  • Combine frosting, extract, and food color in a small bowl until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over brownies and sprinkle with crushed candies. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set the frosting. Cut into 4x4 pieces and store covered at room temperature.
