Elevate green beans with a savory Asian twist - sauteed with garlic, shallot, and sesame seeds for a delicious side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1.5 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon shallot, minced
  • kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of water. Add the green beans and cook for 2 minutes. Drain the beans and place them in a bowl of ice water to cool quickly. Drain once more.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, combine sesame oil and vegetable oil. Add green beans and fry for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in garlic, shallot, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Sprinkle sesame seeds, cook for an additional minute, then serve.
