Asian-inspired spicy honey meatballs - quick, sticky, sweet with garlicky kick. Ready in 30 mins for $3.80 per serving. Serve with cucumber and rice for a perfect dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 500g pork mince
  • 25g (½ cup) panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 green shallots, finely chopped, plus extra, cut into thin strips, to serve
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp white sesame seeds, plus extra, to serve
  • 24.00 gm sesame seeds
  • 20.00 ml sriracha
  • 18.40 gm vegetable oil
  • 125ml (1⁄2 cup) honey
  • 42.00 gm light soy sauce
  • 250g qukes (baby cucumbers), chopped
  • Steamed white rice, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine the pork, panko, shallot, garlic, sesame seeds, egg, and half of the sriracha in a bowl. Mix thoroughly using your hands until evenly combined. Shape the mixture into 20 meatballs using heaped tablespoonfuls.
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil. Cook the meatballs, turning frequently, for about 10 minutes until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
  • Combine honey, soy sauce, and the rest of the sriracha in the pan. Stir fry the meatballs for 5 minutes until they are fully coated and the sauce thickens slightly. Serve the sticky meatballs in individual bowls and garnish with cucumber, extra shallot, and sesame seeds. Enjoy with steamed rice.
