Indulgent cherry chocolate chip Bundt cake with walnuts, topped with a simple dusting of powdered sugar.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons confectioners' sugar for dusting
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch Bundt® pan with shortening, then lightly dust with flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Combine flour, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl until well mixed. Fold in the cherry pie filling, chocolate chips, and nuts before transferring the batter to the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then flip the pan to remove the cake. Cool completely on a rack and dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
