Decadent gluten-free chocolate hazelnut dessert slices that are irresistible.
Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 180.00 gm brown sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • 99.00 gm gluten-free self-raising flour
  • 75.00 gm hazelnut meal (ground hazelnuts)
  • 20.00 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 225.00 gm Nutella
  • 2 egg whites
  • 107.50 gm caster sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease an 18cm x 28cm slice pan and line it with baking paper, leaving a 3cm overhang on all sides.
  • In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, hazelnut meal, and cocoa powder. Spread the mixture over the base of the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until the top is just firm to touch (the base will sink slightly). Once baked, spread Nutella over the top and let it cool.
  • Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced. Beat egg whites with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Slowly add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while beating until fully dissolved. Spoon the meringue over Nutella and swirl using a spatula to create small peaks. Bake for 5 minutes until golden. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
