Make a scrumptious orange-infused cake with Betty Crocker® Gluten Free devil's food mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (15 oz) Betty Crocker™ Gluten Free Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • Additional orange peel or mandarin orange segments, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease the bottom of an 8- or 9-inch square pan. In a large bowl, mix cake ingredients on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium speed and beat for 2 minutes. Pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 44-49 minutes in an 8-inch pan or 38-43 minutes in a 9-inch pan until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely, approximately 1 hour.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed to blend powdered sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 tablespoon of orange juice until combined. Gradually incorporate the rest of the orange juice, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of orange peel. Spread the frosting on the cooled cake and top with orange peel or mandarin orange segments for decoration.
