Delight in a classic blackberry cobbler recipe passed down from Grandma, featuring fresh blackberries or your favorite fruit.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups white sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 pinches salt, divided
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 2 pounds fresh blackberries
  • 2 cups boiling water
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine 1 1/2 cups of sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl, whisking until well mixed.
  • Combine the flour, 1 1/2 cups sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Add the softened butter and mix until it resembles cornmeal. Gently fold in the milk until just moistened.
  • Layer blackberries in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, then spread batter evenly over them. Sprinkle sugar-cornstarch mixture on top of batter, followed by pouring boiling water over everything.
  • Bake until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown, which should take around 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven.
