Indulgent butterscotch pie with creamy brown sugar custard - a nostalgic fall treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a double boiler set over simmering water, mix together milk, brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes.
  • Whisk egg yolks into filling and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into baked crust.
  • Bake until the top turns golden brown, approximately 5 minutes in the preheated oven.
