Festive Christmas cookies dusted with sweet powdered sugar for a stunning finish.
Ingredients:
  • 4.5 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups ground pecans
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar, or more as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Combine the sifted flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  • Cream together margarine, butter, and sugar in a large bowl using an electric mixer until smooth. Add one egg and beat well, then mix in the second egg and vanilla extract on low speed. Combine flour mixture into the butter mixture until just mixed. Gently fold in pecans by hand.
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on baking sheets, keeping them about 2 inches apart from each other.
  • 1. Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are golden-brown, about 8-9 minutes. 2. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 8 minutes. 3. Place confectioners' sugar in a bowl and dip both sides of each warm cookie into the sugar. 4. Tap off excess sugar and let the cookies finish cooling.
