Indulge in creamy corn chowder loaded with creamed corn, potatoes, half-and-half, and crispy bacon - a comforting delight from grandma's kitchen.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup diced bacon
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 cups cream-style corn
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups half-and-half
Instructions:
  • Prepare all ingredients needed for the recipe.
  • Crisp up the bacon in a large pot over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep 2 tablespoons of the flavorful bacon grease in the pot after draining.
  • Combine potatoes and onion in the pot and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then, mix in corn, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender, approximately 20 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, heat half-and-half until it bubbles, then remove from the heat just before boiling. Stir into the chowder.
  • Enjoy immediately.
