Crispy pork wontons filled with veggies and spices, fried to perfection just like Grandma's!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 (14 ounce) package wonton wrappers
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 quart canola oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Combine ground pork, celery, carrot, onion, and garlic in a bowl. Season generously with salt, pepper, and soy sauce, then blend thoroughly using your hands.
  • Prepare and lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Spoon 1 teaspoon of the pork mixture onto the center of each wrapper. Brush the edges of the wrappers with beaten egg, fold over to create a triangle, and firmly press to seal. Transfer the filled wontons to a baking sheet.
  • Heat canola oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 365 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Fry 6 wontons at a time until golden brown and they float to the top, about 3 to 4 minutes. Place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
