Juicy whole ham roasted with sweet pineapple, cherries, and ginger ale.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) whole ham
  • 1 liter ginger ale (such as Vernors®)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple slices, drained, reserve juice
  • toothpicks
  • 1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and then place the ham in a roasting pan.
  • 1. Pour the bubbly ginger ale into the roasting pan. 2. Gently massage the sweet brown sugar onto the ham. 3. Adorn the ham with pineapple slices, securing them with toothpicks. 4. Place a cherry in the center of each pineapple slice with toothpicks. 5. Pour the reserved pineapple juice into the pan with the ginger ale. 6. Cover the ham with a foil tent.
  • Bake the ham in the preheated oven for 4 hours, then remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
