Deliciously moist yellow cake recipe, passed down from grandma, perfect with chocolate buttermilk icing.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2.5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to create the perfect baking environment. Prepare three 8-inch pans by generously greasing and flouring them to ensure your cakes release easily after baking.
  • Cream the butter and sugar in a medium bowl until fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs, one at a time. Mix the milk and vanilla, then add alternately to the fluffy mixture with the flour. Stir just until combined. Pour into the prepared pans.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the cake slightly pulls away from the pan's edges. Let the cakes cool in the pans briefly before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
