Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 425°F (220°C).
  • Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Use two butter knives to cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Whisk eggs, vinegar, and water in a separate bowl. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, gently incorporating it.
  • Roll out the dough and gently place it into two 9-inch pie pans, ensuring a perfect fit.
  • Place in the hot oven and bake for 12 minutes.
