Grandma's secret to light, crisp Polish bow tie cookies: Roll dough thin.
Ingredients:
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 0.5 pint sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon whiskey
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.33333298563957 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • Preheat deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine egg yolks, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, and whiskey in a large bowl, beat until smooth. Stir in flour until dough is stiff. Transfer dough to floured surface, knead until smooth. Add more flour if needed. Divide dough into 3-4 pieces, roll each into a ball. Cut into 3-inch strips, then slit each strip lengthwise. Shape into bow-like twists.
  • Fry until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar.
