Decadent and flavorful chocolate cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup shortening
  • 0.75 cup margarine
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33300000429153 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease your cookie sheets.
  • In a large bowl, beat the shortening, margarine, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in peanut butter and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and cream of tartar; fold into the sugar mixture. Stir in oats, walnuts, if using, and chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
