Irresistible family-favorite oatmeal cookie recipe from a trusted friend - a timeless classic.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup butter flavored shortening
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Whisk eggs until fluffy, then gently fold in plump raisins and fragrant vanilla. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of one hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Whisk shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar until creamy. Fold in flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, then add raisins and eggs. Mix in oats and walnuts. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls and arrange them 2 inches apart on non-greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake until edges turn golden, for about 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated oven. Let cool on wire racks.
