Savory casserole made with creamy mushroom soup, juicy tomatoes, rice, onions, and flavorful ground beef, topped with melted cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup instant rice
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 6 slices American cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • In a large, deep skillet, cook ground beef and onions over medium-high heat until beef is perfectly browned. Be sure to drain any excess fat before continuing.
  • Combine tomatoes, condensed soup, rice, sugar, garlic powder, thyme, and oregano in a pot. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Transfer mixture to a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle cheese slices on top and bake until golden and bubbly, 15 to 20 minutes.
