Zesty lime butter cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare 2 large baking sheets by greasing them. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. In another bowl, mix together 1/3 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Ready to bake up something delicious!
  • In a large bowl, mix together the butter, 1 cup of sugar, and lime zest until fluffy. Slowly incorporate the lime juice, then add the flour mixture gradually in 1/2 cup increments. Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and coat them with spiced sugar. Place on baking sheets with 1-inch spacing, gently pressing down with a cookie stamp or glass bottom.
  • Bake the cookies until the edges turn golden brown, 13 to 16 minutes in a preheated oven. Let cool on wire racks before storing in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
