Elevate classic mac and cheese with creamy Havarti cheese and fresh dill for a delicious twist. Ready in 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated or very finely chopped onion
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded Havarti cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill weed
Instructions:
  • Prepare and cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain well.
  • In a 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, salt, and onion until mixture smells nutty and is lightly golden, about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour in the creamy milk for a rich base and whisk vigorously in the skillet until it reaches a gentle boil. Watch it thicken beautifully. Take it off the heat and sprinkle in the cheese and dill, whisking until velvety. Gently fold in the drained macaroni for a delightful finish.
  • Garnish with extra dill weed to taste.
