Whip up a healthier and budget-friendly homemade coffee creamer with just 3 simple ingredients. Customize with vanilla or spices for a delicious touch.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups whole milk, divided (or your milk of choice)
  • 1/2 cup light or dark brown sugar (or your sweetener of choice)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste)
Instructions:
  • In a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk with brown sugar. Place over low heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Simmer slowly for 30-35 minutes until the mixture reduces to about 1 1/2 cups without stirring. Remove any foam or film that forms on the surface with a spoon. The milk will turn a light golden brown color as it simmers.
  • Chill the creamer: Take the milk syrup off the heat and allow it to cool until warm. Mix in the remaining 2 cups of milk and vanilla, stirring to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture into a quart-sized container with a lid and chill in the refrigerator. Check the sell-by date on the dairy used to determine the creamer's shelf life. Share your feedback on the recipe by leaving a review and comment below.
