Honey, soy and sesame wings with vegetable fried rice

Whip up a quick and budget-friendly family favorite for any night of the week!
Ingredients:
  • 89.38 gm honey
  • 131.25 gm soy sauce
  • 2.50 gm ground ginger
  • 6.00 gm sesame seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1.5kg chicken wings
  • 9.20 gm olive oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 250.00 ml frozen mixed vegetables
  • 400.00 gm cooked jasmine rice
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. In a microwave-safe jug, mix honey, soy sauce, ginger, sesame seeds, and garlic. Microwave on high for 20 seconds or until honey melts. Allow to cool for 2 minutes before using.
  • Arrange wings in a charming ceramic baking dish, then generously drizzle with honey mixture. Ensure wings are fully coated with the delectable sauce. Bake for 50 minutes, making sure to turn and baste the wings with sauce halfway through cooking, until they are beautifully browned and perfectly cooked.
  • Prepare delicious fried rice by heating oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Sauté onions and vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes until onions have softened. Deglaze with 2 tablespoons of cold water and continue cooking for 5 more minutes until vegetables are tender. Finally, add rice and soy sauce, stir and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until heated through. Enjoy!
