Delicious honey lime braised pork with vibrant Asian flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 36.40 gm peanut oil
  • 1kg piece pork neck (scotch)
  • 4cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks
  • 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 131.25 gm soy sauce
  • 62.50 ml kecap manis
  • 89.38 gm honey
  • 65.63 gm lime juice
  • Steamed white rice, to serve
  • Steamed choy sum, to serve
Instructions:
  • - Preheat the oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced. - In a flameproof baking dish over medium-high heat, heat the oil and brown the pork for 5 minutes, turning occasionally. - Add ginger, garlic, star anise, soy sauce, kecap manis, honey, lime juice, and 3/4 cup cold water. Coat the pork and transfer to the oven. - Bake for 2 hours, turning every 30 minutes, until cooked to your liking. - Remove from the oven. Enjoy!
  • Place the pork on a plate and cover to keep warm. Strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until thickened. Slice the pork, divide between plates, and top with the sauce. Serve with rice and choy sum.
