Golden-baked pie filled with fresh apples, gooseberries, and sweet honey.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (15 ounce) package pie dough for a double-crust pie
  • 1 cup chopped apple
  • 1 cup fresh gooseberries
  • 1 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup chopped rhubarb
  • 0.5 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk, or as needed
  • 2 pinches white sugar, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and nestle a 9-inch pie pan with one pie crust.
  • Combine the apple, gooseberries, honey, rhubarb, cranberry sauce, flour, and almond extract in a bowl. Transfer the mixture to the pie shell. Dot with butter and place the remaining pie crust on top. Make slits in the crust, brush with milk, and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is bubbling and golden brown. If the pie gets too brown, cover it with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
