Spiked rum cider with brown sugar and butter is a cozy and festive drink perfect for chilly gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 quart water
  • 3 orange spice tea bags
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1.5 cups light rum
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • 6 cinnamon sticks, garnish
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and gently introduce orange spice tea bags. Cover and allow it to infuse for 5 minutes.
  • Discard tea bags and gently mix in apple cider, rum, brown sugar, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Warm the mixture over medium-low heat until it is gently steaming.
  • Divide the hot cider among 6 mugs and add a 1/2 teaspoon of butter to each. Top with a cinnamon "swizzle" stick for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
