Effortless lasagna: beefy sauce, three cheeses, and no-boil noodles for a quick, delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1.5 cups part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water, divided
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
  • 1.5 pounds ground chuck beef (80% lean)
  • 0.75 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans Hunt's® Petite Diced Tomatoes, undrained
  • 2.5 cups Hunt's® Tomato Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 9 dry lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 2.5 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and generously coat a 9x13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, 2 tablespoons of water, parsley, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper; set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook beef and onion with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, Italian seasoning, and salt for about 7 minutes until beef is no longer pink. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Drain any excess liquid.
  • Combine the rest of the water, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes in the skillet. Let the meat sauce simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Create a delicious lasagna by layering 1 cup of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish, followed by 3 dry noodles. Add 2 cups of meat sauce, half of the ricotta mixture, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles. Finally, top it off with the remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Enjoy your masterpiece!
  • Grease the underside of aluminum foil with cooking spray before tightly covering the dish. Bake for 45 minutes. Uncover, bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
