Savory beef and mushrooms in a spicy tomato sauce tossed with pasta for a delicious bolognese dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 (12 ounce) box dry fettuccine pasta, uncooked
  • PAM® Olive Oil No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 pound ground sirloin beef (90% lean)
  • 0.75 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
  • 1.5 cups chopped fresh fennel
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh button mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons Hunt's® Tomato Paste
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans Hunt's® Petite Diced Tomatoes, undrained
Instructions:
  • Prepare pasta as directed on the package.
  • Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Cook beef, onion, salt, and pepper for 5 to 6 minutes until beef is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Introduce fragrant fennel and earthy mushrooms to the pot and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until they reach a tender texture. Incorporate the rich tomato paste, along with the juicy undrained tomatoes and let it all simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Gently mix in the cooked pasta and continue to simmer for 2 more minutes until everything is piping hot.
