Spicy Indian broccoli ready in 35 minutes, seasoned with chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and turmeric - a delicious side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 head broccoli, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 3 tablespoons gram flour (garbanzo bean flour), or more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, warm 3 tablespoons of oil. Add mustard seeds and cook until they crackle for 1 to 2 minutes. Mix in onion and cumin seeds, sauté until onion turns translucent for 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, and turmeric, cook until fragrant for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Combine broccoli with onion mix; sauté until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Pour water and salt; sauté for 1 minute. Incorporate gram flour; cook and stir constantly until broccoli is coated and not sticking, adjusting flour as needed, 5 to 8 minutes. Finish by drizzling 1 teaspoon oil over junka before serving.
