Transform muffins into donuts by rolling in butter and coating with spiced sugar blend for a hint of Indian flavor with cinnamon, cardamom, and garam masala.
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously grease 24 mini muffin cups.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend together 1/3 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, and the egg until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and ginger. Gradually add this dry mixture along with milk into the butter mixture. Fill muffin cups evenly with the batter.
  • Bake until light golden brown, about 15 to 18 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the pan.
  • Combine 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, garam masala, and cardamom in a large food-storage plastic bag. Dip hot muffins in melted butter, then coat with sugar mixture. Serve immediately while warm.
