Indulge in a rich and fragrant garlic and onion soup featuring a whopping 20 cloves of garlic and 4 cups of red wine, seasoned with thyme generously.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 8 onions, chopped
  • 20 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 4 cups red wine
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter or margarine until it sizzles with excitement. Toss in the onions and saute them until they transform into sweet caramelized perfection, about 10 minutes. Now, stir in the garlic, thyme, salt, brown sugar, and pour in 2 cups of lush red wine.
  • Combine all ingredients and stir until well mixed. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until the soup has reduced by half. Add the remaining red wine and parsley. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes.
