Crispy seasoned tilapia fillets pan-fried to golden perfection with a flavorful kick. Ready in minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound tilapia fillets, rinsed and patted dry
  • 1 egg
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs (such as Progresso®)
  • 2 teaspoons roasted onion flakes
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon blackened seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
  • 2 pinches crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground sea salt, or to taste
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons butter
Instructions:
  • Whisk together the egg and milk in one bowl. In another bowl, combine bread crumbs, roasted onion flakes, garlic, blackened seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, and sea salt.
  • Coat tilapia fillets in egg mixture, then press into crumb mixture on both sides. Place on a plate and repeat with remaining fillets. Chill coated fillets for 15 minutes to set the crumbs.
  • In a cast-iron frying pan over medium heat, sizzle the fillets in a mix of olive oil and butter until beautifully golden on both sides, about 3 minutes per side, ensuring the fish is tender and flaky inside. Place the cooked fillets on paper towels to drain.
