Decadent pecan pie upgraded with dates, raisins, and warm spices, baked in a buttery crust and served with unsweetened whipped cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 0.5 cup dates, pitted and chopped
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell
Instructions:
  • Beat butter (or margarine) with sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg yolks. Combine flour and spices, and add to the creamy mixture. Pour in cream and stir. Add nuts, raisins, and dates. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie shell.
  • Place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until firm. Allow to cool before serving.
