Jewish Apple Cake II

Delicious homemade yellow cake layered with spiced sliced apples.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2.5 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 2.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Coat sliced apples with 5 tablespoons of white sugar and ground cinnamon, then set aside.
  • Blend together the flour, eggs, 2 1/2 cups sugar, baking powder, salt, vegetable oil, orange juice, and vanilla until fully combined into a slightly thick batter.
  • Pour half of the batter into the pan. Spread the apple mixture over the batter and top with the rest of the batter.
  • Bake the cake at 350°F (175°C) for 60-80 minutes until golden brown. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
