Delicious double-crust pie bursting with flavors of apples, peaches, pears, and plums - a playful twist on a classic fruit medley.
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a double crust 9-inch pie
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or more as needed
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
  • 1 cup peeled, pitted and sliced peaches
  • 1 cup peeled, cored and sliced pears
  • 1 cup pitted and sliced plums
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a piping hot 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and gracefully line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry.
  • Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl, then generously sprinkle 1/4 cup of the mixture over the pastry in the pie plate.
  • Combine apples, peaches, pears, plums, and ginger in a bowl. Sprinkle with lemon juice and mix well. Transfer fruit mixture to a pie plate, sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture. Seal with pastry, cut slits on top, or create a lattice crust for a beautiful finish.
  • Start by baking in a preheated oven for 15 minutes. Lower the temperature to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and bake until the crust is golden and the filling has thickened, approximately 35 minutes. Let it cool completely before serving.
