Sausage, eggs, and cheese baked in flaky crescent roll layers - a delicious make-ahead breakfast dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage, stirring occasionally, until it's crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove any excess grease before proceeding.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and ground mustard until smooth.
  • Fold in the sharp Cheddar cheese and savory sausage into the fluffy egg mixture.
  • Line the bottom of a large baking dish with one sheet of rolled out crescent roll dough.
  • Spread the egg mixture evenly in the baking dish and cover with the second sheet of crescent roll dough.
  • Chill the casserole covered with plastic wrap in the fridge for 8 hours or overnight. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking and then remove the plastic wrap.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the egg is fully set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
