Kid-friendly crispy chicken in sweet soy-ketchup sauce - a delicious Asian-inspired dish!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds chicken tenders, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup garlic salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • vegetable oil
  • 0.33333334326744 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.125 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, season chicken with garlic salt, toss well to coat, and allow to marinate for 5 minutes.
  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs. Coat the chicken by tossing in flour, dipping in eggs, and then coating in bread crumbs.
  • In a cast iron pan, heat 2 inches of oil over medium heat until shimmering. Carefully add chicken in batches, frying until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, and continue with the remaining chicken.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, blend ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir occasionally and cook until the sugar completely dissolves, which usually takes 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Garnish the chicken with the flavorful sauce.
