Delicious German potato cream soup with egg noodles.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large potato, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 0.5 pound bacon, chopped
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Mix flour, egg, 1/2 cup water, and salt in a medium bowl until dough forms. Cut into thin strips or small pieces.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of water until bubbling. Add dough, potatoes, and onion. Simmer for 20 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain well.
  • Cook crispy bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, reserving the delicious drippings, while the pasta and potatoes are cooking.
  • Combine the cooked pasta and potatoes back into a large pot over medium-low heat. Add bacon, a teaspoon of bacon grease, milk, cream, salt, and pepper. Adjust bacon grease to taste and add enough milk or cream to cover the mixture. Simmer for 20 minutes without boiling. Serve hot.
