Korean BBQ Galbi: Flanken-cut short ribs marinated in sweet sesame soy sauce, grilled to perfection for a delicious and tender dish.
Ingredients:
  • 5 pounds beef short ribs, cut flanken style
  • 1 Asian pear, cored and cubed
  • 1 onion, coarsely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup soy sauce (such as Kikkoman®)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup sesame oil
  • black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, submerge the ribs with cold water and refrigerate for 1 hour to remove any blood. Drain ribs before use.
  • In a blender, puree Asian pear, onion, and garlic until silky. Transfer to a large bowl and mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper. Add ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  • Prepare your outdoor grill by preheating it to high heat and giving the grate a light coating of oil.
  • Grill the ribs, previously marinated, until tender and crispy on the outside, about 5 to 10 minutes per side.Dispose of the marinade.
