Easy Korean short ribs made at home, with option to use rib-eye or chicken slices as substitute.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup soy sauce
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 0.5 large onion, minced
  • 0.25 cup minced garlic
  • 0.25 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 3 pounds Korean-style short ribs (beef chuck flanken, cut 1/3- to 1/2-inch-thick across bones)
Instructions:
  • In a large, non-metallic bowl, combine soy sauce, water, vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk in onion, garlic, brown sugar, white sugar, and pepper until sugars dissolve. Add ribs to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for 7 to 12 hours for maximum flavor.
  • Heat up the outdoor grill to a medium-high temperature.
  • Remove the ribs from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off, and discard the marinade.
  • Grill the meat on high heat until fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
