Korean fried chicken dumplings - a crispy, savory delight for any meal!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup potato starch
  • 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
  • 1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1.5 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
Instructions:
  • In a glass or ceramic bowl, mix together rice wine, sesame oil, ginger paste, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
  • Spread potato starch evenly over a plate. Line a baking sheet with foil and top with a rack.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat to ensure the chicken pieces are fully covered.
  • Coat marinated chicken in potato starch and fry in hot oil for 5 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Fill each wrapper generously with flavorful fried chicken. Seal the edges by brushing them with beaten egg. Let them rest while you prepare the next step.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Pan-fry dumplings until golden, working in batches as needed, for 3 to 5 minutes. Place cooked dumplings on a baking sheet rack to drain excess oil.
  • Combine honey, gochujang, lime juice, sesame oil, garlic paste, and soy sauce in a bowl to create a flavorful sauce for dipping with dumplings.
