Ladybug Cupcakes

Enjoy adorable ladybug cupcakes made with Betty Crocker™ cake mix and icing for a delightful dessert treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 tubs (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 2 teaspoons red paste food color
  • Red sanding sugar
  • 1 tube (4.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ black decorating icing
  • 24 miniature creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 48 candy eyes
  • 1 tube (4.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ red decorating icing
  • 48 pieces (1 inch) black string licorice
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a toasty 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups.
  • Prepare and bake cupcakes according to the instructions on the cake mix box, using water, oil, and eggs. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then transfer from pans to cooling racks. Let cool completely before enjoying.
  • Mix frosting and food color in a medium bowl. Frost cupcakes and sprinkle with sanding sugar. Attach a small round tip to the tube of black decorating icing and pipe wings and dots on each cupcake. Attach a cookie for the head and secure candy eyes with black icing. Use red icing for the mouth. Insert 2 licorice pieces into each cupcake for antennae.
