Ingredients:
  • 4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine sweet, juicy strawberries with a sprinkling of 1/2 cup sugar in a medium bowl; let it sit for a bit.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tablespoons sugar, and butter in a medium bowl until a soft dough forms. Drop 6 spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • In another medium bowl, use an electric mixer on high speed to whip the cream until soft peaks form. Add almond extract and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and continue to beat.
  • Divide the warm shortcakes and arrange them on separate dessert plates. Fill each with strawberries and generously top with whipped cream.
