Las Vegas-style Korean beef ribs: marinated in a flavorful blend, grilled to crispy perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 pounds beef short ribs, cut flanken-style
  • 0.5 large Asian pear, cored and cubed
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and diced
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup sesame oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Soak ribs in a large bowl of water for 1 hour until they are perfectly tender. Then, drain and return them to the bowl ready for the next step.
  • In a food processor, blend Asian pear, onion, kiwi, and garlic until smooth. Transfer the puree to a bowl and mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper. Pour the marinade over the ribs in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight, turning once.
  • Separate the marinade from the solids and discard the solids.
  • Preheat the grill until it's perfectly medium-hot and lightly oil the grate. Grill the ribs until they are beautifully crispy on the outside and the meat is cooked through, about 8 minutes on each side.
